Originally a textile designer with fifteen years of experience as a designer and colorist
in New York City, botanical art became a natural progression for me.
I began with lessons from a very fine Watercolorist, Barbara Nechis of Larchmont, New York.
I also took classes at the School of Visual Arts and the College of New Rochelle.
Watercolor became my primary medium of choice.
In the 1990’s I discovered the Botanical Art and Illustration classes offered at the New York Botanical Garden. I started with a summer drawing class. This opened up to me a new experience into illustrating nature with all its beauty and complexities. I continued and eventually completed all the required courses which led to receiving a certificate in Botanical Art and Illustration from the NYBG in 1998.
Since then I have exhibited in group shows in Westchester County, N.Y., at the Mamaroneck Artist Guild, the Pelham Art Center, the Rye Art Center, the Harrison Public Library and most recently at Gallery Yellow, Cross River, N.Y.
I am a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists.
